Dr. Thomas is an internationally recognized expert in Facial Plastic Surgery. He is a frequent lecturer and speaker at Facial Plastic surgery meetings and conferences around the world ant at many university training programs. Dr. Thomas’ practice is focused on aesthetic, cosmetic surgery including rhinoplasty, facelift, and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).
He also frequently treats facial scars as well as defects after skin cancer surgery.
He received his MD degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at Yale University and the University of Missouri and then a fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University. He served as Division Head or chairman at three university training programs and is now Professor of facial Plastic Surgery at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine.
Dr. Thomas is the Past President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), Past President of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS), and Past President of American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). He also served as President of the Chicago Otolaryngology specialty organization (CL&O). He presently serves as the representative to the American Medical Association (AMA) for Facial Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Thomas has published five textbooks on Facial Plastic surgery topics including facelift, rhinoplasty, and facial scar revision. He has two additional textbooks soon to be published on facelift and facial scar treatment. He has published over 200 textbook chapters and scientific studies in the medical literature. He is presently the Editor of the medical journal, Facial Plastic Clinics and serves on the editorial board of the international journal, Facial Plastic surgery.
